2019 chevy colorado temperature gauge not working

Annoying. Replaced the sensor this spring. Failed again on my way to work today and didn’t reset itself after my workday. Used OBDII code reader to see a temp sensor code (like 850 or something) but I didn’t care. Reset it and the needle immediately went to operating temp and I started the ice cold AC moments later.

You don't need to disconnect the battery, this is the default behavior that goes with the P0128 and your issue likely is the t-stat sticking open.
