The service announced Monday it has simplified one of the key ways it judges soldier physical fitness following a broader overhaul of the Army Combat Fitness Test, or ACFT.

To earn promotion points for the ACFT, soldiers must achieve a minimum score of 57 points in each event, for a total score of 342. However, soldiers who score higher can earn additional promotion points, with a maximum of 181 points for a total score of 541.
