The Kamloops is the proper name of the ship. Which threw me for a minute because there’s a place called in BC called that too, so I briefly wondered why an old dude was haunting the city. Which had apparently sunk.

For the record, there's a body in a shipwreck from the 1920s in Lake Superior as well. He's in the engine room of the Kamloops and he's nicknamed "Old Whitey", due to his skin having turned chalk white as it "soapified".
