X1 Carbon vs. P1S - sound and differences. Got into 3D printing about a year ago buying an adventure 3 (literally have lurked the 3D print reddits for a year until new... so hello reddit). Overall I have greatly enjoyed it, but the adventure 3 has several design flaws which made it difficult to use, plus the small build plate was limiting.

I wanted the P1S for specific jobs like printing with TPU (which jams up inside an AMS anyway). Like everyone else said the AMS comes in the combo. The AMS individually is $100 more at $350 if you wanted to buy it separately. So on top of the AMS combo being $100 less than buying each individually, you get the Black Friday discount as well.P1S with upgraded hot end and gears than getting an X1C. 99% of what I print is PLA, but I do also print TPU and some more premium or exotic materials. Presuming I'm upgrading the hot end and gears to the hardened steel ones, is there any difference in capabilities of different materials between the two? Perfect teaching tool. The X1 is designed to print materials the A1 can not. The P1S is enclosed and cost less than the X1. Nothing in your description needs the X1, except the common parts. As someone with an X1C who mostly prints pla and sometimes more exotic materials, I got an A1 as my second printer.

The P1P or the P1S is the right machine for you, there is not enough incremental benefit to the X1C to justify the extra cost. If you don't have pets/kids and only need to print PLA, get the P1P.
