It does require drilling and tapping two holes but it is a nice looking sight and any Gun Smith or decent machine shop should be able to do that for you. The other alternative, and it reeks of Cowboy action shooting, is a Tang sight.

Go for an ivory or gold bead. If you want visable go for fiber optic. The peep takes the back sight out of the equation it is the military standard for the last 100 years. Fiber Optic gathers light. It is the way to go if varmints are eating your chickens at dusk.
